Le Meridien Art+Tech, the first five star hotel in Turin, is an extraordinary synthesis of what has already been conceived by Renzo Piano for the existing 240 rooms, and his new vision of modern hospitality accomplished in the design and functionality of the new 142 rooms. A grand central hall meets guests with a play on transparency and wood panels. An immense open area beneath the glass roof incorporates the floors below, starting from the hall and the windowed panoramic lifts. Five floors of cherry wood panels giving a touch of warmth to the side walls of the Art+Café, along which run the delicate side stairs to the floors.The hotel is 4.5 kilometres east of the city centre, from which it is easily accessible by either taxi or public transport and from the major ring roads, which connect to the Italian autostrada system.Each room has a 30” LCD screen television, full digital video on demand, TV and laptop Internet connection, with carpets, quilts and mattresses strictly allergy free, and multi-jet “power showers”.
