Leaving Piazza del Comune and going towards Porta San Giacomo you pass through Via San Paolo and reach Via Metastasio, where there is Palazzo Aloigi, dating back to the 16th century. This Palace belonged to the family of the painter Andrea d’Assisi called L’Ingegno, the follower of Pietro Perugino praised by Vasari. Palazzo Spagnoli looks on the square (it was built for Sigismondo Spagnoli in 1925 “The foolish dream over the city…”). In the garden of the Palace there is the church of St. Antonio, which is there since the 12th century and seat of the fraternity of St. Antonio. The palace, where the apartment is situated, has two entrances; the main entrance is along Via Metastasio and the secondary in the small square A. Luigi. Using the main door you enter a room belonging to the whole Palace: from there you go up the stairs (the building has an elevator too) and reach the second floor where you find a corridor common to the two apartments. The apartment on the left has a comfortable entrance to the living-room, bathroom and two bedrooms. The furniture is of high quality and the view is extraordinary. Thanks to a garden (in common) staying here is pleasant also for long periods. From the windows or from the baluster of the garden you enjoy a wonderful view on Perugia, Bettona, Montefalco, the Umbrian hills and the Basilica of S. Maria degli Angeli with the Porziuncola inside.

Small apartment situated in an ancient building right in front of the cathedral of San Rufino. The location of this beautiful stone building is very evocative. The road where the building is situated connects the main entrance of the cathedral to a secondary entrance and ands to the church of St.Clare. The Cathedral of San Rufino has lost its original Romanic style inside, but many frescoes by the painter Dono Doni still remain: in fact the road where these apartment are situated in named “via Dono Doni”. Once you have entered the main door, you go up the stairs which lead to the first apartment: inside you find a lovely living-room with kitchenette and a big door-window on the left whichleads to a balcony with a small store-room and a washing machine. On the right you find the double bedroom and bathroom. This apartment has a great view on the roofs of Assisi and the valley of Santa Maria degli Angeli. If you keep on going up the stairs you find other 2 apartments: on the left a small apartment with single bed, kitchenette, terrace with great view on the valley of Santa Maria degli Angeli and a bathroom. On the right you find another apartment with large living-room and kitchenette, single bedroom and bathroom. In the living-room there is also a single bed. This apartment has a very evocative view on San Rufino’s square.

In the upper and oldest part of Assisi, near the Cathedral of San Rufino, there is a completely restructured and evocative apartment, fitted up with style and care respecting old traditions: there is even a part of a medieval wall inside it.
